Kookaburra Lodge apartments and commercial suites are now available for sale.
Kookaburra Lodge is a 2 stage mixed-use commercial and residential property
development located adjacent to the village core at Sun Peaks. The development is being undertaken by the Farrell family, who has a history of investment in ski resort property, and the successful delivery of a diverse range of property developments.

Construction of Kookaburra Lodge has commenced and completion is being targeted for winter of 2008/09. Construction of Stage 2 is expected to commence later in 2008. Kookaburra Lodge will feature higher standards of construction than prevalent to date with concrete slabs on each storey, energy efficient features, first class finishes and cost effective strata arrangements. Stage 1 consists of 13 luxury apartments and 8 high profile drive-up commercial suites.

Planning and design work has been extensive, and has included visits to South Tyrol in Italy and Austria, architectural design by Nettleton Tribe architects in Sydney and Owen & Hunter in Kamloops, and structural design by M+G in Sydney and Triggs Engineering in Kamloops.

The Sun Peaks Resort Corporation issued approval for the development last year
citing “high quality” of design, consistency with the Sun Peaks Village Masterplan, and the tourism benefits of Kookaburra Lodge’s appeal to the long stay tourism market. Innovations in the management structure are planned to strongly improve the return to purchasers who rent their units when not being used themselves and the absence of expensive costs related to front desk reception, public and spas and pools will dramatically reduce the strata costs. Use of internet booking and unit access technology will be used and 24 hour service access will be available to those who wish to purchase additional services.
