Wallaby Wanted... Again!

KAMLOOPS, BC- Australian developer Paul Farrell has offered up a $1000 Australian
dollar reward for the safe capture and return of the infamous wallaby, Wendell, currently
wandering throughout Ottawa’s far west end.

The second wallaby escapee in Canada in only five months, Farrell is genuinely
concerned about the treatment of captive wallabies throughout the country. A similar
situation occurred at the end of June with George, a wallaby living in captivity in
Kamloops, escaped from an outdoor pen. George still has not been found.

Hailing from Sydney, Australia, Farrell currently is building Kookaburra Lodge, the
newest development at Sun Peaks Resort in Kamloops, British Columbia, where both he
and other Australian owners are worried about the missing marsupial.

Worried that the wallaby may not survive the cold temperatures found in Ottawa, Farrell
would like to see the animal returned to its natural habitat alive and well.

“Its internal compass must be completely screwed up,” says Farrell, “Unlike George who
went missing during the warm summer months, Wendell is missing in the bitter cold”

To claim the reward, contact Paul Farrell at 319-0699 and the Kamloops SPCA at 376-
7722. $1000 AUD is approximately $971 CAD.

Designed and engineered in Australia with support from local engineers, construction of
Kookaburra Lodge began in February and is the vision of the Farrell family, active
members of the Sun Peaks community.
